Lai chau is a border province of northwest Vietnam, the northern borders of the People’s Republic of China , Western border province of Dien Bien , Lao Cai province on the est ,south east of Yen Bai province ,and Son La provinces on the south .
Lai Chau fellow people of the Cat,Tay Muong ,Pu nu,Xa ,Hu Ni,Yao,Lao,….,but the largest is the Thai ethnic groupin two areas:The White Thai in the up stream of Da river,was much influenced by Chinese practices ; the Black Thai in Da river downstream ,remains the unique traditions of their race , especially as they have spread vey beautiful dance.


The province is 261.2 km border Vietnam-China, a national border gate and entrance Ma Lu Thang border open on Vietnam-China directly exchange with the vast continent to the southwest of China.Associated with regional growth triangle Hanoi-Hai Phong-Quang Ninhin the highway 4D,70,32 and Da river waterways, has the potential to develop services-trade,import,export and tourism calendar.There is also a strategic position important for defense,security and protection of national borders and soverignty.
Lai Chau valley climate is very humid and hot in summer ,relatively well in the highlands,but very cold on the mountain in the winter
